Yes, my monitor and printer are HUGE. I can't hide that and it is way too inconvenient to cover them up or move them elsewhere. What is funny is I actually need a new desk lamp because the monitor totally eclipses it. I've been searching for a great vintage floor lamp. To compensate for that "office-y-ness," instead of using a traditional office desk, my hubby and I made a desk for me using an old treadle sewing machine base. My friend Ashley and her hubby created a similar one!

My own artwork
The same grandpa who made our headboard (see here & here) made this sculpture and the one hanging on the wall above my desk for me.
The area below needs some work. We're going to turn it into an extension of the room, instead of a closet. I'm going to change out the handles on the filing cabinet and plan to create a huge magnetic chalk board with a colourful, vintage frame.
So, it is a work in progress, but it sure isn't the dumping ground it was for the old home owners.
Wish me luck on my exams!
