Last month, when Hubby & I were in Houston, we visited the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and Kees van Dongen’s The Corn Poppy really captured my attention. I tend to favor abstracts, but this portrait is so engaging that I wanted to share.

Inspired by the splash of red with muted colors, I bought OPI’s Big Apple Red nail polish as a birthday present to myself. I wear a lot of greys, creams and beige so I am blatantly emulating the woman in this portrait. I just don’t really like hats – too hair squooshing.

I love that painting. I have pictures of my grandmother dressed like that when she was a young woman in that era. I also love your nail polish. OPI is the best!
I went to the Superstore today for fruit and got lured into the Joe Fresh clothing section. I bought a beige-y silk blouse (a lot like hers) and a sweater the EXACT color of the background. I'm creepily infatuated.
