Re-Vamped Townhouse Tour

I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend.

After a month away and a week spent half-heartedly putting the house in order (it was difficult getting used to cleaning again!), the townhouse was finally restored to its tidy glory this weekend.   Not that my husband didn't clean while I was in Hungary. Its just that I run a tighter ship and the spiders & dust bunnies definitely noted my absence. I think I removed two dozen cobwebs this past week, from very bold places too.  Like between the teak chair and footstool in the living room.  That's cheeky.

Because I mixed in a bit of decorating with my cleaning/unpacking/back-to-school de-cluttering I thought it was time to post an updated House Tour page, complete with snazzy new photos.  Scroll down for a sneak peak, but take a look at the full house tour here and tell me what you think.

  4. Thanks Dora! The mainfloor had maple hardwood already, but Hubby & my father-in-law replaced the upstairs carpet with the same maple hardwood. They even did the stairs! I've got a post about it, filed under the DIY Projects page.

  8. Thanks gals!

Lesley - I use Murphy's Soap on the wood floors. I make sure not to use a mop that is too damp though - I ring it out pretty well. In between washes, I just use a swiffer cloth. The floors can dusty so fast though, it is hard to keep up.

  12. LOVE your home! That light over the table is great and just what I am looking for for my place...may I ask where it is from?

  13. Hi Label Snob! Thanks for the compliment. The light was an impulse buy during a frenzied renovation process but I'm so happy with it. Unfortunately, I bought it at a local lighting store that went out of business. But, I googled "white drum pendant" and found a ton of similar lighting options for every budget. Even Target has a similar fixture! I hope you find the right one for your space. Here are a few sources to get you started (you'll have to cute & paste into your browser):
