Canadian Home Tour with Lots of White

I submitted my felted wool billy buttons project to the Nate Berkus Show (I'm such a dreamer!) and while on the site, I found this amazing space by fellow Canadian, Natalie.  You know I love white walls + pops of colour (!) but Natalie has such a creative take: some white walls, some pale walls, white floors, white cabinetry & counters, (mostly) neutral furnishings but hits of wallpaper, colourful accessories, plus those fabulous printed chairs.  The result is fresh, modern, glamorous and even a touch beachy.  What do you think?

  4. I was just having a conversation last night in which I was defending white spaces. "Don't you think they're rather cold and stark?" my friend asked. "They don't have to be," I said. This space is a perfect example that a bright white space can still be homey and comfortable. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Kirsti: I love white spaces too! Such a perfect base for large artwork, colourful furniture or accessories. I find white spaces look fresh and airy. And larger, yes, but that's a good thing, isn't it??

Ashley: You are so sweet! Your comments make me smile. And I wasn't even fishing for compliments. Lol.

  7. white is always so wonderful. i'm crazy about it. i just don't know how practical it is in my house with two kids and two cats :) either way, it's gorgeous. it makes things look so simplified and clean.

  8. I buy Mr. Clean Magic Erasers in bulk at Costco, and its just the two of us, so I can see your concern. Maybe a pale cream? Like the colour of all-natural vanilla ice cream. A creamier hue will hide smudges better but still look airy & bright.
