DIY Felting Flops & Feats

Don't forget to enter my first-ever giveaway!  I'll draw a winner Sunday, so check back Monday.

I mentioned in my blogiversary post that I really, really enjoy connecting with readers and fellow bloggers.  What especially tickles me is when I get to see people put one of my DIY tutorials into action.  You remember Tamsyn's awesome DIY felted wool billy buttons?  Well, fellow Canadian Krista, of the blog Don't Forget to Breathe, also took a stab at making her own billy buttons and they turned out so well!  Here are some photos:

Check out my tutorial (and troubleshooting) posts if you want to make some of your own (and send me photos).  But take my advice with a grain of salt.  I'm still trying to make my own felted flower brooch and these are the floopy messes I've made instead.  I'll keep at it because in the DIY game you win some, you lose some . . .

  1. Oh we all have our failed projects! Even if you're not sure it will work, you have to try right?! Congratulations on your blogiversary! Can't wait to see what more you have up your sleeve in 2012 :)

  2. Yup - definitely have to try. And, if all else fails, BIY (buy it yourself)!

  3. "You win some you lose some" - so true. Persistence pays off though :)

  4. I love that you posted a 'failed project', makes me feel a little bitter about all the ones I end up with!!

  5. Always worth trying! This was a nice post :)

BTW, I have an awesome throw pillow giveaway happening now -- if you'd like, I'd love if you came by and entered!

  6. Oh no! Isn't it frustrating when crafty things fail? Your billy buttons are adorable. :)

  7. I have no doubt that you will have the felted flower brooch perfected in no time flat!

  8. Thanks Ladies!

Erin, these billy buttons aren't mine (they're Krista's) but you can see mine under the DIY Projects page.

    Jenny, I'm coming on over!

  9. Hi,

I was looking for interesting blog to follow and I found yours.
I hope you can visit and follow mine too! See you on my blog!

    Have a great day!

  10. Thank you so much Tanya! And I'm sorry for the delayed response, finally have some time devoted to update Breathe and check in with Townhouse.

    Thanks so much m'dear!

  11. PS: I'm looking forward to the Spider tutorial!
