I'm Kind of a Big Deal

I feel like kind of a big deal today, as in I have many leather-bound books and my apartment townhouse smells of rich mahogany . . . ;)

I occasionally submit things to Apartment Therapy and occasionally something I submit is featured, but it was a total surprise to have something I didn't submit featured!!  Without any prompting from me, Apartment Therapy featured my laundry room curtains and painted floor:

Do you know what this means?  Someone from Apartment Therapy just found my project on their own!  I just had to pop in today (even though it's a Tuesday and I'm supposed to be working on my dissertation) to share my glee.  Okay, back to work for me.  My chapters (even the un-written ones) all have to be handed in to my supervisor tomorrow.  I got a little sweaty just typing that.  Don't worry about me, you keep chilling, maybe check out this sweet turquoise door and tell me if it's the right shade for the lakehouse kitchen cupboards, given my plan . . .

  1. I saw this yesterday and was wondering if you had submitted it or if someone else did. Congratulations :)

I can totally see why they selected it as it seems to be a common problem and you solved it in a way that was affordable, stylish and easily customizable for anyone's style.

    1. Thanks :) It was neat to read so many comments from people who have the same problems. I always see so many $10,000 laundry room makeovers and they always involve a new washer and dryer (in cherry red or some other envy-inducing colour). I had a budget of a couple hundred bucks (and drywall ate most of that). I love this curtain idea so much, I think I might be doing something like that in my new place too, which has a laundry room that is also a passage to the powder room.

    1. Thanks! It's such a fun by-product of blogging. Having a blog I love and used to read looooong before I blogged myself say, "hey, that's cool". It's like I'm in high school all over again and the cool kids just said they like my packsack. Oh gosh, maybe this is not cool at all. . .
      :)

    1. Haha! Totally! Pinterest is my brain-break. But it sometimes gets to be a little too engrossing so today I also worked on the patio which was strangely productive - no internet! - except I kept having to chase after my paper. Exercise at the same time!! Look at me go, lol.

    1. Thanks Amy. I dressed like a straight-up hippie from much of high school with thrifted and handmade clothes. Nobody actually complimented my packsack (it was actually a purse I made out of vintage ties), but I'm guessing this is what that feels like, lol.

    1. I'm so excited for the lake house projects!! I plan to take way more risks.

I promise lots of notice before I change the name. I'm also planning to drop the blogspot.com for just a .com. But I will probably get to that in the fall and it will be a slow transition.

  10. liked the clip... I love Ron Burgandy... he's so inappropriate, yet hilarious.

    and congrats!

btw, I notice that my email notice comes in the day after you post- haven't noticed if that's the case for other blogs I follow. No biggie, just sometimes I'm behind the times.

    1. So hilarious.

I've wondered if your email is delayed by a day because I noticed your comments are. I went in to see once if I can fix that but I don't see how. It's an automated widget through blogger. But I'll look into it again. I really struggle with the technical end . . .

      I'm sorry about that!

    2. Yeah, no worries! I usually click and read from my email notices but sometimes I will go directly to your blog if I need more townhouse fix and I think you've posted for that day already. Just was curious if it was the norm.
