Chic Kitchen Halloween Decorating with Birch Lane

I’m so excited for today’s post because, as you know, my kitchen renovation hit a little snag.  While I wait for replacement stone counters, the project is on hold and although I love the parts of my kitchen that are complete, the unfinished state is disappointing.  When Birch Lane reached out about helping me decorate a porch, entryway or kitchen with their beautifully curated and tastefully modern Halloween decor, the thought of decorating my kitchen for the season made me temporarily forget about my renovating woes.

Do I have baseboards or backsplash?  No…  But my kitchen is ready for Halloween entertaining with pretty finds in a delicious color palette of black, white, soft green and inky teal (with just the smallest pop of warm orange).  Do I have any idea when the counter problem will be sorted?  Nope again.  But I have two new beautiful Le Creuset pieces in the most perfect color – all ready for making cozy fall meals, like a giant plum pancake and butternut squash soup.  Plus I scooped the cutest ceramic ghost garland (there’s a matching wreath too) and it’s difficult to be sad with their sweet faces.  I also chose beautiful pale green velvet pumpkins – I loved them so much I put two sets of them in my cart!  And I also got a two tiered tray.  I have wanted a tiered tray for so long because they’re such a staple for holiday decorating.  I had never found the perfect one, but the simplicity of the Jaziah tray was perfect in my new (mostly finished) kitchen.  Let me show you a closer look at my picks!

Green Velvet Pumpkins

I have wanted velvet pumpkins forever – and the soft green on these is perfect.  They’re actually sort of like a ceramic material (they’re solid and hollow inside) and then flocked – so they’re sturdy and flat on the bottom.  They’re not floppy and squishy.  I appreciate that the set of three comes in graduated sizes because that makes styling them much easier.  They also come in a vibrant orange, but I think the green is such a fresh color – and I love it with black and white!

Adorable Ghost Garland

I could not resist these sweet ghosts!  They’re too cute.  I love the garland as-is, but I am also thinking they could be repurposed with ribbons as napkin rings if I ever tire of the garland.  These ghosts are ceramic and feel like really nice quality – the design is even painted on both sides!  My napkins are a vintage, thrifted find but Birch Lane has these adorable black pom pom napkins that are even cuter.

Le Creuset in Deep Teal

Birch Lane included some of the Le Creuset pieces they stock in their Halloween entertaining essentials and I immediately pictured how delicious fall fare would look in the deep inky teal (they carry so many colors)!  I ordered the Enameled Cast Iron Signature Braiser & the 5.25 Qt. Enameled Cast Iron Signature Deep Oven to create some delicious and cozy meals (like the fresh butternut squash soup I made) for Halloween night – and beyond.  I don’t like when food looks “gross” for Halloween, but I did add some plums to a big pancake recipe and I think the red lumps look a little…suspicious… which is perfect for Halloween fare and as far as I will take making food that looks questionable.  Let me tell you: I’ve loved cooking in my new kitchen even as-is, but having some Le Creuset has made me even more excited to use this space.  I actually stayed up until midnight last night, making this soup, and totally lost track of time.

I’ve only ever owned one Le Creuset item (this cast iron skillet) and I’ve loved it for years.  Our old pots have lost most of their non-stick coating, which has me worried.  Where did it go?  I hope dishwasher, but I’m thinking that maybe we slowly consumed it?  That’s probably more terrifying than any Halloween decor!  So cooking in this enamelled cast iron has been a dream – and given me peace of mind too!

Two Tiered Solid Wood Tray

I have always wanted one of these two tiered trays for seasonal decorating.  I don’t like things “spread out” – I like a compact little display so that seasonal decor doesn’t turn into clutter and overwhelm my small space.  The Jaziah wood tray is made from solid mango wood, in a gorgeous black finish.  Perfect for Halloween, yes, but also really versatile for any season!

Adorable Ghost Wreath

I almost ordered this adorable ghost wreath to match my new ghost garland – these ghosts are TOO CUTE!!  But I just made a very sentimental DIY fall wreath and I wasn’t ready to switch it up for the season yet.  But I love the aesthetic of this – it almost has a mid-century vibe, and would really pop on a colorful MCM door.  But it would look equally cute on a modern black door or rustic farmhouse door.  It’s so versatile and super adorable.

Pumpkin Luminary

I thought this little metal pumpkin was cute – until I saw the photo of it at night, and realized it’s actually STUNNING!!  You have to check out the gloooww.  It comes in different shapes and colors and is handcrafted from galvanized stainless steel.  Suitable for use inside or outside, this magical little pumpkin is maintenance-free and rust-resistant – even near saltwater!!

Lit Spooky Candles

I was very tempted by these 6 battery operated, remote control, “floating” hanging candles.  Each candle is pre-strung with a practically invisible hanging wire and is remote and timer enabled for extra “magic”.  I love the idea of hanging them from a gnarly piece of driftwood – or spray painted black branches, like in the photo.

Metallic Series Metal Planter Box

Birch Lane has some seriously gorgeous and modern outdoor furniture and planters in their Halloween category – and I loved the coppery finish on this one!

Printed Coir Kitty Door Mat

Black cats are one of the cutest themes of Halloween and the fun shape on this door mat makes it purrrrfect for Halloween front porch decorating 😉  P.S. If you’re looking for a doormat that will last year and years through all four seasons – I have this exact woven doormat.  I’ve had it for years and even buried under snow for half the year, it still looks good and I love the subtle nautical vibe.

Kensli Wood Decorative Bowl

This organic teak bowl was on my shortlist because I loved the sculptural quality of it.  In some of the photos, it almost had a driftwood quality.  If you’ve ever drooled over the hunks of driftwood I’ve dragged into the house, this is a chic and easy alternative with the same vibe!  It will look so good through all of the seasons, filled with fresh fruits, mini pumpkins or Christmas ornaments.

Skeleton Arm Salad Servers

These skeleton arm salad servers were also in my cart, but I couldn’t get them in time for this blog post.  These are so cool I’d just use them year round!  They’re stainless steel – I bet they last forever.

How adorable is the little skeleton creeping into the candy bowl?  Very relatable, lol.

Birch Lane sent me a gift certificate to order whatever my heart desired from their curated picks for Halloween – which also included home decor in modern, fall hues and cozy fall staples.  I was not prompted to order certain products, asked to share a positive review, or told to share other products in my blog post.  I genuinely love the items I chose and was thrilled by the selection of modern, minimalist and, frankly, well made Halloween decor curated by the brand.
